Provision Announces 7M Seed led by Cercano Management

October 15, 2025

Toronto, Ontario, October 15, 2025 – Provision, the first AI co-pilot for construction estimators, has raised a USD $7M seed towards its agent platform helping contractors save hundreds of billions in lost profits. The round was led by Cercano Management with participation from YCombinator, One Way Ventures and others. This brings Provision’s total funding to USD $8.7M.

‍

Provision, backed by YCombinator, is building the most accurate co-pilot for construction estimators. Estimators are the people who figure out what a project will cost by reviewing huge sets of complex documents. Provision makes this job easier by giving estimators the ability to answer complex questions on construction drawings, typically reserved for experienced estimators, quickly with best-in-class accuracy.

‍

Around half a trillion USD is wasted every year due to errors that could have been caught at the pre-construction stage, be it due to design mistakes, scope misunderstandings or inaccurate estimates. Furthermore, 77% of teams struggle to hire professional estimators at pre-construction. Since bids are mostly legally binding, miscalculations decimate contractors’ profits and can generate legal issues. It takes only a handful of bad bids to wipe out a company completely: around 25% of companies would go broke after just 2-3 bad estimates.

‍

Provision is growing rapidly, with nearly 10x growth in 2024. They have reviewed $100B in project value to date, and are already working with some of the largest construction companies in Europe and Canada, such as Ferrovial, EllisDon, PCL, Bird Construction, Acciona and Colas.

‍

“It’s a testament to the strength of the founding team that Provision has assembled such an impressive list of customers while remaining agile,” says Semyon Dukach, Founding Partner at One Way Ventures. “Luigi and Brendan saw that the generative AI chatbots that contractors were turning to weren’t capable of extracting cost estimates from complex documents, so they built a solution.”

‍

“We’re thrilled to celebrate Provision’s remarkable growth over the past two years, especially since their well-deserved win as a ConTech Accelerator winner in 2023,” says Brandon Milner, Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President, Digital and Data Engineering, EllisDon. “It’s been a pleasure to witness their innovation firsthand and to work alongside them as they transform the pre-construction landscape. All of us at EllisDon are excited to be part of Provision’s continued journey and look forward to supporting their exponential growth in the years ahead.”

‍

Provision offers pre-construction tools that help contractors bid on more projects with greater accuracy and less risk. Their AI allows any estimator, regardless of experience, to extract accurate answers from complex documents. They also proactively identify issues in those documents via their Contract Risk product. Now, they’re extending that support to scope, helping estimators define it precisely and surface related risks.

Launching Scope Agent

‍

As part of today’s announcement, Provision is launching Scope Agent, its first product designed to help contractors build project scopes of work. Instead of spending weeks sifting through drawings and documents, contractors can get organized trade packages in minutes. Scope Agent cuts out errors that cause surprise costs and disputes, helping teams bid faster, work more accurately, and deliver projects with fewer risks.

‍

“Our long-term vision is to help companies gut check any pre-construction work with multiple agents that work alongside estimators to ensure no mistakes are made,” says Provision co-founder and CEO Luigi La Corte, civil engineer and former infrastructure investor. “That will empower existing staff to work on higher impact tasks that really move the needle, increasing their competitiveness.”

‍

“Every major industry will have its AI moment, when workflows once thought too complex to automate become tractable. For construction, that moment is now. Luigi and Brendan are obsessed with solving this challenge, and we are proud to partner with them as they build Provision to bring accuracy and reliability to the back-office processes that underpin trillions in global infrastructure spend,” says Daley Ervin, Managing Director at Cercano Management.

‍

Provision has been backed by notable angels: PlanGrid co-founder Ryan Sutton-Gee, and DroneDeploy Founder and CTO Nicholas Pilkington. This recent capital investment will fuel product development and accelerate their innovation around core estimating workflows that have historically led to contractor profit erosion.
